International Kadampa Festivals
Members of Kadampa Meditation Center Washington attend the International Festivals with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso every year.
International Kadampa Festivals are special courses taught by the Founder and Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
The Festivals include teachings and empowerments from the Spiritual Director, reviews and meditations led by Senior NKT Teachers, chanted meditations and offering ceremonies, and retreats to consolidate and deepen your understanding and experience.
Open to everyone, these International Festivals are a wonderful opportunity to meet with Buddhist practitioners from all over the world and share experience and understanding with them.
Three Annual Festivals
There are three International Festivals each year:
- The Spring Festival
May 22 – 25, 2009
At the International Spring Festival 2009, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso will grant the empowerment and commentary to the practice of Buddha Maitreya. The Festival will be held at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre in England.
- The Summer Festival
July 24 – August 8, 2009
At the International Summer Festival 2009, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso will grant empowerment of Dorje Shugden and commentary on Lamrim, and then grant the blessing empowerments Heruka and Vajrayogini, and commentary to their practices. The Festival will be held at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre in England.
- The Fall Festival – November 1 - 8, 2009
International Fall Festival 2009 - empowerments of Je Tsongkhapa and Dorje Shugden and teachings on the Stages of the Path and Mahamudra Tantra from the Ganden Oral lineage.
The Festival will be held at, Montecatini Congressi, in the Tuscan town of Montecatini Terme, right next to Kadampa Meditation Centre Italy. It is a perfect setting in parkland right at the heart of this enchanting Italian Spa.
